MEYI Advisor Ehaab Abdou Speaks at USAID-Georgetown Social Entrepreneurship Event
Middle East Youth Initiative advisor Ehaab Abdou joined a group of social entrepreneurs from the Arab region and other experts on a panel titled "Social Entrepreneurship: Putting Powerful Ideas to Work" at Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business on September 24.
Others speaking at the event included: Ms. Sonal Shah, Director of the White House Office of Social Innovation; Anne Aarnes, USAID's Senior Deputy Assistant Administrator for the Middle East; Mr. George Khalaf, Director of the Arab World Social Innovators program at the Synergos Institute; and Dr. Carol Lancaster, Dean of Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service. The event is being organized by Georgetown University's Mortara Center for International Studies and the McDonough School of Business; USAID, DAI, and the Society for International Development.
Ehaab joined the Middle East Youth Initiative in July 2009 to guide our new policy research on social entrepreneurship in the region. Ehaab brings his experiences as an Ashoka fellow and co-founder of the Egyptian youth-led NGO Nahdet El Mahrousa.
